Abattoir could very well hit our favorites list. Located on the West Side near sister restaurant, Bacchanalia, Abattoir has a very cool atmosphere. Not to mention the food was excellent. We tried the Kumamoto Oysters (very small), Ceci Peas (kinda like popcorn), Pomme Frites, Pickeld Gulf Shrimp (very tasty especially with the hint of jalepeno) and Strawberry / Arugula salad. For dessert, dinner was topped off with the beignets. Everything was delicious. Our only regret is that we didn't have room to try anything else. We will definitely go back and will be a place that we not only recommend to friends, but will go there with them.My other favorite thing about this restaurant is that they save rolls of toilet paper when they are low to be used later, while not running the risk of not having any.
